My wife, Dorka is a unique and multifaceted individual! Her interest in and abilities as a writer and communicator benefit not only me in my work, but also for others. Through her family background Dorka has inherited an appreciation for classical art, and her work is often figurative referring to the art of the past. Paradoxically, at the same time she is a consummate experimenter, always looking for contemporary and innovative modes of expression. Since being awarded her diploma from the art academy, Dorka’s work has primarily focused on architectural glass: ceiling domes , room dividers and partitions, ecclesiastical windows, as well as monumental public works. Apart from her architectural glass, Dorka also creates one-off work which is completely individualistic , such as trophies and sculptural glass. Her work is technically diverse including such innovative glass techniques as waterjet cutting, mosaic, mirror graphics, sculptural relief, and often incorporates stone, wood, ceramics, or metal in combination with the glass. Dorka always surprises and amazes me! I will never understand where she gets all her energy!
